Armenian chefs won a number of awards at the Expogast Culinary World Cup

On November 30, 2022, Second Secretary of the Embassy Davit Mirzakhanyan attended the Expogast l V&B Culinary World Cup award ceremony in Luxembourg. The contest took place from 26th to 30th November, 2022. The Armenian team consisted of 12 chefs and confectioners also participated in the tournament. The team was headed by Iskuhi Hambardzumyan, the president of Taste of Peace Armenia. Expogast, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, brought together renowned international chefs from around 70 countries under one roof.

During the tournament, the Armenian chefs, who participated under the category of "Pastry Art" won 1 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals and received 3 certificates of gratitude.

Participation of the Armenian chefs’ team at Expogast was for the first time and it was greatly facilitated by the internationally renowned chef Sarkis Yacubian, the founder and president of the TASTE OF PEACE JERUSALEM chefs' association.

Within the framework of the contest Iskuhi Hambardzumyan, Sarkis Yacubian, and Worldchefs - World Association of Chefs Societies president Thomas Gugler signed a cooperation agreement, which hereafter will include the name of Armenia in the culinary map of the world.
